>September Orphan of the Month – Kolada

>Our September Orphan of the Month, Kolada, is a four-year-old purebred female Great Pyrenees. She was brought to Adopt A Golden Atlanta after her owner passed away. While this is a very confusing time for a dog, Kolada is adjusting very well at her foster home. She plays well with other dogs and cats and loves to chase tennis balls. She is quite the cuddler – just looking for a family to make happy.

Watch Kolada in our Orphan of the Month video while she hangs out with her foster brother, Mulligan.

>June Orphan of the Month – Buster

>Our June Orphan of the Month, Buster, is a five-year-old Great Pyrenees with a big heart. He lived his whole life with a family who had to move out of their home into an apartment and the big guy couldn’t go with them. He has been treated for heart worms and is gaining weight. He loves going on walks around the neighborhood with his foster and knows to heel. Buster pants and paces during storms but just needs to not feel confined when the thunder rolls. Crates would not be a good thing for this big guy. Visit our website for more information.

>April Orphan of the Month- Sam "Sammy"

>
Meet Sam, known to his foster family as Sammy. He is almost 2 years old and has his AKC papers. His owner took him to a shelter and simply turned him in saying he couldn’t afford to care for him. We soon found out why – Sam had heartworms and needed a sponsor to help pay for his treatment.

Sam is now cured of his heartworms (thanks to a generous donor) and is so looking forward to finding his forever home. His foster family reports that Sammy is a lover boy with lots of energy. He takes the stairs 4 at a time and loves to chase squirrels. Right now, Sammy would knock down young children and chase cats but a family with another dog and children over 10 would be great. Sammy is a smart dog and is learning his commands and has also recently learned to fetch balls and return them. He’ll need a secure fence at least 5 feet tall and preferably a home where he won’t be left alone for more than 4 hours (he’s still a bit unsure of his new life inside a house). Sammy will provide lots of kisses to the lucky family who adopts him!
