Need a last minute gift for Mother's
Day? Why not make a donation to AGA in honor
of your Mom who taught you to love dogs?
Just go to our website and make a donation
and give us her name, mailing address and email
address.
If donations are received by Thursday at 5
pm, we will send her a card telling her of your
generous donation in her name. If any
donations are received after 5 pm on Thursday
through Sunday, we will send your mom an email
telling her how you much love her and thanking her
for showing you the love of dogs. Yes, even
if you forget, we will send her an email on
Sunday!
This month's Golden Gazette features a
couple of great events coming up - we hope
you can join us for our Golden Open and
WOOFSTOCK! Read on to find out more
information about both events. And don't
forget about our next Adoption Day on June
6th at the Buckhead PetsMart from noon to 2
p.m. - hope to see you there!

My Foster
Story - Stacey
Bond |
 Hi!
My name is Stacey Bond, and I currently foster
Grissom. He is a 6 year old boy who is pure
love. His former family turned him over to us
because he started having seizures.
Fortunately since being on medication, he has not
had one seizure. When I picked him up, he
wasn't real sure what was going on, or what to
expect when he came home with me.
My golden, Cali, and I have
treated him like he was our family, and he is now
totally comfortable and so happy! His tail
wags a million miles a minute. He was a
little overweight, and has lost a few pounds and
has become a star hiker. He is going to make
the best addition to the right family!
I started fostering about 1 year
ago. I absolutely love it! It fills me
with such joy to be able to take a dog that was
abandoned in some way, and to give them a safe
place to learn how to be a dog. I have
fostered several breeder dogs that have absolutely
no idea how to act like a dog, and are not able to
trust people. I have seen remarkable changes
in these dogs from the time I picked them up, to
the time they were adopted by families who were
perfect for them.
I so enjoy
finding the right families for the right dogs -
and I am picky! Being part of Adopt a Golden
has really added another dimension to my life, and
I so enjoy it! It is such a rewarding
experience!

| May Orphan of the Month |

 Meet
Alfie, our May Orphan of the
Month! This 7 or 8 year old sweet guy
has a playful and fun disposition and is looking
for a leader. We found him wandering in a
subdivision with his pal, Darby, a lab.
He's house-trained and gets along well with
others. In fact, he'd love to have another
dog in his new forever home! We think he is
ok with cats, too. This awesome goofy golden
will steal your heart.

Calling
all Golfers! Play in the first Golden
Open
AGA is holding the first Golden
Open on Monday, June 7, at Atlanta Country Club.
Golden Open Chair Ken Harbour and the Tournament
Committee are planning a fun-filled day of golf
that you won't want to miss. Put a
team together and come on out! We're
also looking for tournament sponsors and hole

Volunteers Needed for
Star94's WOOFSTOCK
Join AGA at this year's Star94's WOOFSTOCK
(formerly Petapalooza) on Saturday, May 15 at
Suwanee Town Center Park. We
still need volunteers for shifts between 11
and 5 to work our booth spreading the word about
AGA. And we need golden retrievers
there too! This is a fun event - several
thousand people attend.
Star94 broadcasts live all day
from WoofStock. If you and your golden can
work one of the shifts, let Juliann know - juliann@adoptagoldenatlanta.com. Even
if you can't volunteer, make sure to come by and
