Newman - TD17B - ADOPTED!
I was found near a resort in Turkey not too far from Istanbul, but I wasn't on vacation! Lots of dogs get left at places like that when their families go back home and leave them behind. That's sad isn't it? I must admit that I could use a little training but I am very, very smart. New things make me a little nervous and one thing I had to learn was that a leash is not a toy for pulling on - it's to make me safe on walks. I have other toys on my bed that I use as tug-of-war toys if a person will play with me. I just love people and I get very excited when they want to play with me. Sometimes I get too excited and I can be a rough player because I am a pretty strong boy! When I am calm, I am lovable and foster mom says I'm "sweet". She is teaching me things called "commands" and they are to sit, to wait, to stay and to walk nicely on a leash. I am so used to walking wherever I wanted to go in Turkey, that putting me inside a fence makes me want to dig out, especially if I'm left alone! I think I am always looking for people to keep me company!!! I guess I really don't want to be left alone and I think maybe when I feel more secure that could change. I really need a fence though as I am thinking that I would like to run out the front door where there is always lots going on. That's not a good idea because you can get hurt or lost. I have a neighbor dog on the other side of the fence but he is pretty old and not much interested in me, even though I say friendly barks to him. So, there is all my progress for now and if I can find a patient family I promise you won't be disappointed because I will try as hard as I can to make you proud of me! Thanks everyone for bringing me to America - from Newman
