BIO:
Hi there! My name is Elliott and I'm a 7 year old Great Pyrenees with a little bit of Golden Retriever in me. I was born and grew up on a big farm, like many Great Pyrenees do, with several other dogs. We lived outside mostly and usually ate garbage that the person who lived there threw away; yuck that was bad. Sometimes we had no food. We had no training or attention and I never learned anything while I was there. So, I go by instincts. When I was one year old (still really a pup), AGA took me in and found me a home. Sadly, that was not the right place for me and 6 years later I came back. I lost that family because I behave mostly like a Great Pyrenees and in some homes, that just doesn't really work out. When I came back, AGA sent me to U.S. Canine to understand my special behavior needs a little better. The great trainers at U.S. Canine say I am very sweet and it's OK to give me a lot of attention, if you are my immediate family. You see, my ancestors were bred to guard livestock and to protect their owners and homes, so I am always on guard to protect my home and my people. I'm not very patient with intruders, including people and other animals, that is when I put my paw down. I take my job very seriously. I'm sure you understand now that I need a home where not a lot of people or dogs visit. There also shouldn't be children in my home because they don't always understand special needs. Despite all the training I have had, my Great Pyrenees behavior was inherited but at least now everyone understands what I need to be happy. Having completed my training program at U.S. Canine, I have free lifetime follow-up consultations in their center. Their guidance to me and my future new owner is very important. So, I need my forever home to be in Atlanta or within a few hours driving distance. The nice people that have met me from AGA say the picture of me does not do me justice, as I am adorable in person. Please ask to meet me so you can see for yourself! Elliott
