BIO:
I am a 7 year old Great Pyrenees and I need a special adopter who understands my breed. I was born and grew up on a farm with several other dogs. We lived outside and usually ate garbage that the person who lived there threw away. Sometimes we had no food. We had no training or attention and I never learned anything while I was there. When I was one year old I went to AGA and was adopted by a family. That was six years ago. Now I have no family. I think it's because I some times behave like a Great Pyr. My ancestors were bred to guard livestock and to make decisions on how to best do that. I've been to many trainers and dog schools over the last six years but I still do some things that people don't understand. Pyrs are mainly protective of their own family and can be not very patient with intruders, and that includes people and other animals. It's just part of me to look after my "space". Despite all the "training", every behavior I've inherited hasn't been trained out of me. One mistake was that I was never taught as a puppy who my leader was. Even after all the training, I was never sure who was my leader so I continued to follow my own instincts and I think that is why I am where I am now. I'm living in a kennel, alone and with everything I knew, gone. Is anyone going to give me a home? I don't know, but AGA will try. Please, if you are a patient, understanding and strong leader and you would have a tall fence but no small children, will you think about me? I'm a good boy but very sad. Please help me. Elliott
