BIO:
Did you know that the first day of this month was National Black Dog Day? We often get a very bad "rap" simply because of our black coats. Well let me tell you, as a member of this group, none of it is true! We are just as friendly and loyal and can love our people just as much as a dog that is brown or white or gold! I ended up in a shelter and if it hadn't been for the kind people there and the folks at AGA, I might still be there sitting in the back of my kennel and too scared to come out and meet people. I have to admit I am a bit shy but not for long! I am a 2 year old flat coated retriever just like the gold retrievers, only a shiny, satin black. So many other black dogs need homes and I consider myself lucky to be free (you will never know how happy I felt in my volunteers car driving away from the shelter) and getting help finding a new family. I know the other black dogs that are AGA orphans feel the same! Each of us count ourselves very lucky to have so much help and care, and look forward to our new lives. I, and my cousins here, would be so happy to meet you all and maybe we could join your family. And, just a little reminder for you fashion conscious folks, we are always dressed for evening events and black never goes out of style! Lots of hugs and kisses, Toby
