Hi everyone, I’m Arya, a golden-hearted 3-year-old girl ready to begin the next chapter of my life. I’m a 55-pound retired breeder who found my way to AGA after another Golden Retriever rescue realized I needed a little more support than they could provide. From the moment I arrived, I’ve been soaking up the love and learning what it truly means to be cherished. I’m an affectionate, people-loving girl who bonds deeply with my humans. Snuggling on the couch is one of my absolute favorite pastimes, and I’m happiest when I can relax close to the people I trust. I’m fully house-trained, gentle in the home, and eager to please.

I do have some preferences when it comes to my forever family. I’m looking for an experienced dog owner who understands dog behavior and can confidently guide me — I wouldn’t be the best match for a first-time dog owner. I also need to be your one-and-only pup. I really enjoy having all the attention, toys, and treats to myself, and I’m most comfortable without other dogs around. Because of my high prey drive, a cat-free home is important for me, and I’d do best in a home without young children.

Walks are something I enjoy, but I’m still working on my leash manners. So, I’ll need a strong, consistent handler who’s committed to continued leash training. With patience, structure, and plenty of positive reinforcement, I know I can keep improving. A fenced yard is required for me so I can safely explore and burn off some energy.
