My name is Aspen, and I finally understand what “home” means. After seven years, my breeder decided it was time for me to retire, and before I knew it, AGA welcomed me with open arms. I was sweet and quiet, still learning how this new world worked, when the vets discovered I was heartworm positive. It meant I would need time, patience, and a very loving family to help me heal.
I was a little shy at first, but I’ve always loved gentle affection and the company of other animals. Then my forever family found me. They were looking for a calm, older girl to love… and somehow, they were exactly who I’d been waiting for. From vet visits to quiet days at home, they all took part in helping me feel safe and cared for while I completed my treatment.
