Hi there, I’m Blue Doodle, a sweet, active boy with a big heart and a sensitive soul. I’m about two and a half years old, and I’ve had a lot of change in my short life. I was given to my most recent family just a few weeks ago, but my new owner’s health made it hard for her to give me the care and activity I need. So now, I’m looking for my forever home, one where I can settle in, feel safe, and finally just belong. I’m a handsome guy and I’m house-trained. I’m nothing but loving and playful. I’m shy at first around new people, but once I warm up, I’ll show you how affectionate and loyal I can be. I really don’t like being confined in a crate. It makes me scared. I would much rather be on the bed or couch with you. And, I am not destructive when left alone in the house. I just sleep by the door waiting for you to get back!
I have a medium energy level. I have bursts of playful energy, and when I am not playing, I love to cuddle! I have lived with kids who were 5 and 10 years old, and I was good with them! I’ve done well seeing other dogs out and about, though I haven’t lived with one yet. I do have a few quirks (who doesn’t). I can get a little protective of my food if someone touches me while I am eating, so a calm and experienced home that understands how to give me space during mealtime would be ideal. I am gentle when taking treats, especially when used for training. I love learning! I just need a patient person who can help me feel safe and loved unconditionally.
I also have some seasonal allergies, but with the right care, I do just fine. What I really need most is someone kind and consistent who understands that shy dogs like me just need time to trust.
