UPDATE: Thank you to Jennifer R, Celine, Michael & Claire D, Karen Y, Sandy D, Harris, Frank & Karen, Brian L, Sophie S, Michelle, Margaret J, Char, and Casey R for donating in Category A. I have raised all the funds I need for my heartworm treatment!
Hey there, I’m Buddy, and I’m a one-year-old golden boy weighing about 63 pounds. I have a soft heart and a shy start to life. I came into the Fulton County shelter as a stray and went unclaimed, but thankfully AGA saw something special in me and made sure I didn’t get overlooked.
I can be a little reserved at first, but once I feel safe, I start to relax and show my sweet, gentle nature. I do well with other dogs and really enjoy their company, and I’m also good with cats. I’m fully house trained and have nice house manners, which helps me settle into home life more easily. I’d do best in a home where someone is around most of the day, like a work-from-home or stay-at-home adopter, so I can continue building confidence and not feel lonely. A fenced yard is important for me too, giving me a safe space to explore and relax.
Unfortunately, I am heartworm positive and will need treatment, which AGA is helping coordinate. Treatment costs about $1,000, and I will need it before I can be completely healthy again. AGA is looking for sponsors to help me get better so I can start my new life strong and happy. But, what I really need now is a loving home to support me along the way.
I’m ready for a family who understands that trust takes time and that the best bonds are often built slowly. With patience and kindness, I promise I’ll be a loyal, loving companion. Tail Wags, Buddy
