Hi friends, it’s Cava here, though my new family calls me Lady now, and I think it suits me perfectly! I came to AGA with two other dogs and four puppies from the Chattooga County Animal Shelter. I was just two years old and on the smaller side, full of energy, love, and a big golden heart. My road to recovery wasn’t the easiest; I was heartworm positive when I arrived, but thanks to some amazing fosters who cared for me, I made it through treatment and started to feel like myself again.

One of my fosters realized I was still a young, active girl who needed a family that could keep up with my zest for life, and that’s when everything fell into place. At a Meet & Greet event, my family spotted me, and it was love at first sight! Now, I’m living the dream, I’ve got a sweet older dog brother to keep me company, an 8-year-old human sister who shares her bed with me (at least for part of the night before I sneak into my parents’ room), and a big fenced yard where I can chase chipmunks and dig a few “landscaping” projects of my own. My mom works from home, so I get cuddles and attention all day long. I may have started life in a shelter, but now I’m truly home — loved, spoiled, and exactly where I belong. Love always, Lady (formerly Cava)
