Some say my name fits me perfectly — Goldilocks, a soft golden girl with a tender heart who’s still learning that the world can be safe and kind. I’m 6 years old, 76 pounds, and before AGA found me, I was a stray in a busy southern Georgia shelter. The staff there loved me dearly, but being in a kennel was scary for me, especially around loud or pushy boy dogs. With people, though, I felt brave… I leaned in for pets, offered quiet kisses, and hoped someone would choose me. No one ever came… so AGA did, and now I finally have a chance at home.

In my foster home, I’ve shown who I really am: calm, gentle, a little shy, and deeply loving once I feel safe. I may flinch or hesitate at first, but tasty treats and soft words help me bloom. I’ve also likely raised litters before rescue, and now I carry around small plush toys like they’re my babies, it comforts me, and it makes my foster smile every single time. My foster home thinks a fenced yard would be best for me.

I’m a polite walker, and I’m working hard on house-training and basic commands. I catch on slowly but steadily. I haven’t had a lot of interaction with other dogs yet, but when I see them on walks I watch with curiosity, not fear. I just need time, gentle introductions, and a family who understands that building confidence is a journey. I don’t need chaos or constant excitement, just a quieter, kind home that will let me exhale, heal, and finally feel protected. If you’re patient, soft in spirit, and ready for a golden girl who loves deeply, I promise I’ll be worth every moment of trust you give me. With hope, Goldilocks
