My name is was Justine, but now I go by Lily. When AGA found me at a rural shelter, my future didn’t look very bright. I had a painful limp and had been placed on the euthanasia list.
But AGA saw something worth fighting for and gave me the second chance every dog deserves.
It turned out I needed quite a bit of medical care. I was heartworm positive, needed to be spayed, and had surgery to repair my leg. It was a long journey, but I was surrounded every step of the way by people who believed I was worth saving.
Then I met MY family. From the moment we met at Meet & Greet, it just felt right. They stood by me through every part of my recovery, cheering me on and giving me all the love, patience, and care I needed.
Today, I’m healthy, medically cleared, and finally able to enjoy everything I’ve been waiting for — long walks, backyard playtime, cozy snuggles, and simply being a carefree dog.
My new family tells me I’ve already brought so much joy into their lives, but if you ask me, I’m the lucky one.
Thank you to everyone who believed in me, cared for me, and helped me find my happily-ever-after. Love, Lily (formerly Justine)
