Hi there! My name’s Max. I’m a 4-year-old, 78-pound bundle of golden love, recently retired from my life as a breeder dog. My previous family realized goldens like me are big, strong, and full of energy, maybe a little more than they could handle. So, now I’m looking for a forever home where I can get all the love, attention, and adventures I deserve. I’m a sweet, silly, and loving guy who adores people. I know “sit,” and I’m ready to learn more tricks with someone patient and kind. I can be a little shy in new environments at first, but I respond really well to praise. Then, I’m all about cuddles, affection, and making you smile. I think I would do best with another dog in the home to help me learn how fun being a pet is. My foster says I am mostly house-trained, I love plush toys, and I am very affectionate. I may jump a little when I am super excited, so a home without small kids might be best for me

One thing to know, I am heartworm positive, which means I’ll need treatment (about $1,000) before I can be completely healthy again.
