Abby is a six year old purebred Golden whose family brought her to the vet to be put down. You see, she was having trouble seeing — bumping into things and walking into walls. They didn’t want to bother with her. Thank goodness for the kind-hearted vet who knew how special this girl was — who knew a dog can adapt very well to blindness. It only took a few phone calls and Abby was safe. After Abby saw a specialist, it was determined she was blind and nothing could be done. In the meantime, she was in the process of stealing her foster care mom’s heart. In fact it was the perfect home. One floor, a canine older brother named Oliver and a mom who worked from a home office. It was meant to be. Last we heard, Oliver was acting like a guide dog and Abby was the hit of the neighborhood. Rumor has it she even has a boyfriend she meets for daily walks. Whoever said ‘love is blind’ was right.
