Meet Alfie. He was found along with his pal, Darby the lab, wandering the streets of a suburban neighborhood. Darby has found a loving new home. Now, it is Alfie’s turn! He came to us a sweet, 7-8 year old gentle soul who was kind to other dogs and tolerates cats in a manner befitting his dignity. He loved to walks, go for car rides, take naps and was good on leash. We just couldn’t imagine that someone wasn’t greatly missing this guy – especially once we saw his silly tip toe dance showing appreciation. Then mom came along and the dance hasn’t stopped. She wanted a dog that needed her – one who was not the Belle of the Ball or the popular guy in the room. She wanted a dog that would receive as much love as she could give. So the story begain, mom has a long history with rescue, fostering and quirky dogs. She is a retired Emory Nursing School faculty member and recovering from hip surgery so this well mannered gentle dog is a perfect for her and she is perfect for him! Now his new life can really begin!
