Hi, I’m Aspen, a soft, sleepy soul with a heart full of hope. I may not remember exactly how I ended up at the shelter, but I do remember the kind people who gave me a safe place to rest… and the amazing team at AGA who came for me the moment they could. That’s when everything started to change. The last few weeks have been a little tough. I haven’t been feeling my best, and the vets say I have a few health issues to work through, including heartworms. But even with all of that, I’ve been told I’m incredibly sweet, quiet, and gentle. I don’t ask for much, just a soft bed to curl up on and someone to be close to.
I walk nicely on a leash, I’m housetrained, and I’m learning that it’s okay to take things one day at a time. For now, I need to stay calm and take short leash walks while I go through treatment. I haven’t met cats or kids yet, but I don’t mind walking past other dogs on my strolls. I do get a little anxious when left alone, so a calm, loving home where someone is around most of the time would make me feel safe.
