Meet Barnaby – a very sweet male golden retriever. He is approximately 18 months old and found himself stuck in a rural shelter in south Georgia…days away from being killed. When Barnaby came to us his biggest issue was walking on a leash, he was petrified. He also was not sure what to do with treats (he took them, kind of mouthed them, then dropped them.) Everything seemed new to him. However, he always enjoyed getting loved on and just lying with his people. He also had heartworms but thanks to Wayne Whitlaw they are gone now. Wayne sponsored Barnaby in memory of his wonderful golden girl Marley who unexpectedly crossed the Rainbow Bridge a short bit ago. Marley would have been very proud to help Barnaby and also proud that she helped him along his journey to finding a new home. He now lives in south Georgia with his new family and Golden 9-month old brother named Zeus. Barnaby will have a retired mom and a private lake to romp in, too. He is slowly learning what family life is all about – treats, toys, soft places to lay his head and most importantly unconditional never-ending love and affection!
