Meet Bear, an affectionate gentle giant who came to us several months ago. He is a 2 year old male Great Pyrenees who had a loving family but sadly, his family lost their home and asked us to step in and help Bear. He is such a great dog who plays gently and he is a little clumsey when he starts “romping around”. He also talks to you with growly mumbly grumbly noises. Bear likes to snuggle and cuddle and is a bit lazy. He does like to take strolls and loves his afternoon snoozes. Bear is fine with other dogs and is ok with cats if they are dog savvy. But his perfect home would be where he can be King and be with his human most of the time. He loves attention and will tell you he doesn’t like to share. He is a great protector. He is a huge cuddle bug and nothing makes him happier than just laying around watching TV and getting bellyrubs. With all of his strengths there had to be a little weakness and sadly it turned out that Bear was going to need knee surgery on both of his knees to live a normal life, especially due to his size. He has already successfully completed his first surgery and is just getting ready for his second. Along his journey we placed in one of our terrific foster homes and he won the heart of his foster family. Now Bear is not only getting better, he is home. He now has a great home with a mom that works from home and a slew of furry friends to keep him company. With Bear’s resistance to sharing his toys he’ll be making lots of grumbly noises in his future.
