Where to start, where to start! It’s me again- Bear- but in a little while Nick has something to say too. We have both been on this amazing adventure of learning what it’s like to be part of a family who really cares for us! In fact, our new mom and dad have an extra supply of the “shiny stuff” and if you don’t know what that is then you’ll have to read the AGA book “Sparkles” to find out! What it means to us is that we are so, so lucky to be home. We have learned about going up and down stairs, how to play with our 3 new family dogs, how to take treats, walk on leashes and whatmis a bath and what is a brushing. I demonstrated some of these things so Nick would see it’s all very easy to do and it feels good. And now Nick wants to tell his part. Hi- I’m Nick- this is my first time telling about us. I have learned that I don’t have to crawl on my belly and that standing up with straight legs is not dangerous. I’m still a little careful about taking treats and about loud noises but those things are getting better too. There are some other dogs here too that are becoming my friends (even though my brother Bear will always be my favorite) but it’s nice to know he can rest and not always have to be looking after me. Our new mom and dad are extra patient and kind to all of us – we know it must be hard for the other dogs to get used to us but we are a real family and nothing so good has ever happened to us before. Bear looked in my eyes the other day and told me that something had changed- he could see it and he whispered the secret to me. (“Sparkles” knew the secret too!) Much love to everyone and as many “thanks’ as there are stars in the sky. -Bear and Nick
