BEAUTY’S HEART GAVE OUT AND SHE SIMPLY TOOK A BIG BREATH AND SIGHED AND DIED IN HER FOSTER HOME. BEAUTY KNEW LOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE AND WE ARE HAPPY SHE HAD A FEW HAPPY MONTHS IN HER LIFE. Beauty has a very sad story but we hope it will have a happy ending. Beauty (yes, that is her real name) appears to have lived most of her life under a house. She was living with a man who was mentally ill and animal control tried several times to rescue Beauty but each time they came to the house, she ran and hid under the house. Finally, after her owner was taken to a medical facility, animal control surprised Beauty and got her before she could hide under the house. She was in the worst shape of any dog we have rescued. Her coat was one big mat. She had mats hanging from her filled with feces. No one would have saved her from the shelter so we did. Once in the car, she settled down and seemed to enjoy the ride to the vet. She was bathed and bathed and bathed. We had to shave her. Her ears were filthy. Her nails very long. Her age estimated at 9 years. Her heartworm test – positive. She is in foser care now and is shy but very sweet. She is learning everything like it was the first time… she didn’t know what a bed was. She likes other dogs, seems fine with cats and is getting used to people. If any dog needed a guardian angel right now to swoop down and show this dog that people can be good, Beauty does.
