Meet Ben – a wonderful 11 month old purebred male Golden Retriever who was pretty sad when he came to us. He previously lived with a wonderful family who had three small boys but Ben didn’t like the baby crawling on him or getting in his stuff. His family knew that he needed to be with a family who had older children or no children at all. So, when we met Ben, the oldest boy made sure to tell us what to feed Ben and they brought a photograph of the whole family packed with Ben’s things so Ben would never forget them. His parents were so appreciative that AGA took Ben into our program because they knew he would be safe and we would find him just the right family. After a short stay with us we learned that Ben had pain in his hips and that is why he didn’t like the little ones crawling on him. So, after 6 weeks of water therapy and additional home exercises to build his muscles, Ben was ready for adoption! However, after his struggles, rehab and one failed adoption, his foster mom couldn’t bear the thought of parting with her sweet boy! No to mention that Ben had already decided that this was the perfect place for him – no children, other dogs to play with and a pool. Perfect! Ben and his male siblings Scout and Boomer are best buddies, while Katie (his canine sister) reigns as queen and they have a wonderful time together. Ben has finally found his place in the world and he is one happy boy!!
