Every time I look around I can’t believe what I see. I have been on my own for a long time in a place called Turkey. Now I am 6 years old and it’s like I have found a different world. My home was always under a bridge where the workers would feed me. My bed was dirt and stones. My knees and elbows always hurt and sometimes I couldn’t sleep. I would get wet in the rain and so hot in the Summer. I expected nothing. One day a kind lady took me away from that place. I had a bath and rolled in the grass. I never remember doing that before. Then I rode on a truck with a whole bunch of goldens and we got on an airplane and we slept and after a long time we were here! Some people met us and took care of us and then one day my new mom and dad came to get me and take me home. I’ve had more baths and there was a new bed waiting for me and I even have a little sister dog. She is going to teach me American words. We take walks and I have some medicine to help my knees and I discovered “brushing”. That feels so good! Now when I look around I can’t believe so many people cared so much about me and my golden friends. My special thanks to all of them and to my wonderful sponsors Morningside Presbyterian Yoga & Friends Hugs from me,-Betsy Ross.
