Blondie is a female golden retriever who is estimated to be about 1 year old. A very nice 83 year old woman saw her darting in and out of the street and stopped to give her a treat and try to coax her out of the street. When she got out of her car Blondie jumped into her car and sat. She took her home and called the shelter and gave them her contact information in case anyone came looking for the dog. She put an ad in the newspaper for found dogs, she contacted 3 vets in the nearby area to no avail. Our volunteer went to meet the dog and she found a beautiful small golden about 50 pounds, who appeared to be already spayed, and was very sweet. She had been sleeping on the lady’s bed at night – spoiled already and smart. Blondie goes and gets her leash when she wants to go out. She is all puppy and has lots of energy while at the same time, she can be a big cuddle bug. We asked the woman how she knew what to do when you find a stray — she told us her father had been a veterinarian! Now after some time with us she’ll continue her path of being spoiled in her new home. Blondie was very popular and we had quite a few people that wanted to meet her, but one couple was very persistent, as they knew she was the one for them. Fortunately, Blondie knew it too! At their first meet it was evident they all adored one another and the adoption was done. Now Blondie is living the golden life. Mom is a homemaker who will have plenty of time to devote to Blondie’s training and will keep her active with trips to the park, walks and runs. And dad is well – dad. He is going to be wrapped around his golden girl’s paw in no time – just like all dad’s and their daughters. Blondie would like to also thank the nice lady who helped her (and her dad)!
