We think of ourselves now as the “Cinderella Sisters” because we had two fairy godmothers who rescued us from a very dark place where everyone had forgotten us. We didn’t have anything to eat and we couldn’t go outside and we just decided we’d never get out of there and so we closed our eyes and held on to each other. That’s where the fairy godmothers came in. They heard about us and ran to get us and took us to the doctor and then to their place called Pampered Pets. We got some good food and we could go out in the grass and feel the sun again. It was a miracle! We didn’t have a mirror but we knew we didn’t look too good but being the goldens we are we just put our chins up and put on our best smiles. Smiles go a long way to make a dog feel better. We had to have our coats shaved because they weren’t pretty any more but now they are growing back and we feel like we have new ballgowns. We started going to the AGA adoption day with our godmothers and pretty soon along came our new mom and dad-to-be and we heard they had to say good-bye to their golden and they were lonesome. We found out they were looking for a very young dog and at 10 and 11 we knew we’d have to try extra hard to change their minds. Now, back to the smile thing again. We gave them the best smiles ever and kind of wiggled so they knew we were happy girls and that did it. Now we are home and it’s just like being in the palace! We are so grateful to everyone for giving us new lives. Sometimes it was hard but we never gave up because goldens don’t give up and look how good it turned out!
