Say hi to Bowzer, a 2 year old purebred male Great Pyrenees. A farmer had purchased him in hopes of turning him into a goat herder. Well, Bowzer liked chasing the goats and couldn’t figure out how to herd so the owner dumped him at the shelter and said, “I would have shot him in the head but didn’t want to dig his grave”. That is all we had to hear. Unfortunately, Bowzer was in pretty bad shape. He has a severe ear infection and he has heartworms. The good news is that Bowzer could be cured. One of our nice vets took him home for a couple of nights to get him back on his paws and quickly realized that Bowzer was a very special guy. Like most great Pyreneeses Bowzer is a gentle giant and he soon stole the heart of his foster dad. Bowzer was being fostered by one of Adopt a Golden’s most dedicated volunteers. Dad doesn’t have any other dogs and until meeting Bowzer he wasn’t in the market for a forever pet. But Bowzer won him over and the two became an inseparable pair. We know Bowzer is exactly where he belongs, in a great home, with a loving dad, and a wonderful future to look forward to!
