Buddy came to us back in the middle of November, an eight year old boy that didn’t look or act his age. He had been living with an elderly gentleman who could no longer care for Buddy. Buddy is a beautiful, purebred golden, but his former owner couldn’t find his papers. That didn’t worry Buddy a bit and it didn’t bother his foster,, who added Buddy to her pack of nine dogs. Buddy fit right in right away. Although he gets along fine with other dogs (and with cats, too, for that matter), Buddy is a people dog. His foster mom was very adamant that Buddy needed a home with someone there most of the day; and as much as he loves his person, he also enjoyed being with her other dogs, so she really wanted him to have at least one dog pal in the family. It was challenging to find the perfect match for this happy boy. Buddy wagged and smiled at adoption days, but there was never the perfect match for Buddy. And then it became evident Buddy had found his forever home straight from the start! We were just a little slow realizing what Buddy probably knew all along. In the end, Buddy’s foster mom finally realized that Buddy had become family, and she was no longer Buddy’s foster – she was Buddy’s person.
