This is Buddy AGA, a 6 year old male purebred golden. We added the AGA on to his name because we have a lot of dogs named Buddy and this Buddy is very special to AGA. You see five years ago, we brought Buddy into our program. Buddy hardly could stand and he acted like a dog with Parkinson’s. Tests revealed that he had pressure built up on his brain stem (probably due to an injury when he was just a pup – his owner lived on a farm and suspected Buddy had been kicked in the head by a horse). Well, Buddy became our first brain surgery dog and was our first dog we raised money for on the web. We raised over $9,000 for his surgery. It was successful and Buddy improved. He didn’t shake as much and he tended to lean a bit but could stand and run. Originally, he was adopted by his foster family. However, mom and dad got divorced, Buddy went with dad and then dad decided to enlist in the army. So, we all felt it was time for Buddy to find a new home. And now we have found this sweet boy a new home. He has wonderful new parents who really love their animals. They are previous AGA adopters, having previously adopted 2 of our dogs. Buddy now home the home he was waiting for all along. He lives with his parents, 2 goldens, 2 other elderly dogs, a cat and a variety of other animals – including a gecko and a tarantula. Yeah, looks like his parents are true animal lovers and then some. We certainly think they have hearts made of gold! Funny, Buddy does too!
