Buddy Paws is an 8-year-old-ish boy who came to us HW positive after his owner died and the remaining family turned him into a Columbus shelter. He was treated for heartworms, thanks to Ron and Jan Moles, and went to recuperate with a couple of our long-time fosters and their AGA Golden named Mulligan. Over the years, many foster dogs have come and gone in Mulligan’s home and he has been aloof to them all. He always made it clear he liked humans over dogs. However, Buddy Paws was different. He began working his charm on Mulligan and soon Mulligan was letting Buddy sniff his face and even touch him when they were laying near each other, a paw here or there during naps. But soon he was even letting Buddy lick his empty bowl after dinner, and foster mom and dad realized Buddy and Mulligan might one day even be friends. Well, when another family inquired about Buddy Paws, foster mom and dad decided to drop the foster role and become just mom and dad. It was another “foster failure” and Buddy Paws couldn’t be happier! He completely charmed everyone in the household, even the aloof Mulligan, and is now in his forever home. Here’s to you Buddy Paws…
