Buster Brown is a 6 year old purebred male golden retriever who was surrendered by his former family although they dearly loved him. Sadly, they had to find a better home for him because their new living situation didn’t allow pets. Buster is a funny guy who thinks he can do all kinds of things – even fly! He was adopted by a lovely family but one day they left him home on a nice sunny day with the upstairs window open. We think Buster saw geese fly by and he literally jumped out the second story window. The neighbors saw this 100 pound golden sailing through the air and luckily land on some bushes but not without breaking his elbow. The surgery and recovery were a little much for a pregnant mom with two kids under 4 years of age. So Buster came back to us, and some surgeries, lots of money, and a couple of months with his loving fosters later, Buster found a fantastic one-story forever home on Lake Keowee. He now has a retired parents mom and dad, a live-in grandma, and a 12-year girl who visits every single day after school. In addition, he also has a new 2-year-old Golden sister named Misty who will keep him away from geese and windows, and with a lake and a pool — who needs to fly, anyway? Sometimes life throws you a few hurdles (or geese) but in the end it always works out!
Many, many people helped this lovely boy with the stripe down his nose, but special thanks go to his fosters Terry and Wade Munday, who took him in twice and nursed him through a painful flying injury. I think every AGA volunteer who met him fell in love, and we knew it wouldn’t be long after he was medically cleared that he would find the perfect home.
Time to turn in your wings, Buster!
