“Butterscotch” aka “Butter” lived on a chicken farm. The people fed him eggs from time to time and then he decided to help himself by pilfering the nests. Dogs that eat eggs who live on chicken farms are not tolerated.
Butterscotch was dumped at the shelter.
In 2002 he fell off a deck and broke his right front leg. It never healed properly and his country vet advised amputation. But Butterscotch is a survivor and he still gets around great. Despite his hardships he hasn’t lost his charm. People are constantly stopping Butter’s foster family to pet him or ask about his story. But even with all the attention, Butter sticks to his foster mom like Velcro. The two are such a pair that, what was obvious to everyone else, finally became clear Butterscotch’s foster family. What was set up as a temporary situation was really meant to be a forever home. Now Butter has found his forever family and they are not letting him go.
