This is Cadbury, a 5-year old purebred male golden. Cadbury was rescued from a puppy mill breeder farm after serving as a stud dog all his life. In addition to being healthy and handsome, Cadbury has a gentle, sweet nature. He is comfortable with people and craves affection, but since he has spent all his life in a cage he is simply inexperienced in “how to be a dog.” Everything is new to him, such as stairs, a bed, the ring of a telephone or walking on a leash. He approaches everything new with caution, and he can be easily startled by something as non-threatening as a pencil falling on the floor! He is not aggressive with other dogs, but because he has never had the oportunity to romp and play he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do to make a friend. He does love to run, explore, fetch a ball, go for walks and car rides. But mostly he would like to spend quiet time with his humans, learning to trust and enjoy them. He will be good with children, but probably older ones who are not too boistrous. Patience and love will make Cadbury a great companion dog. It is time for this boy to live the life of a loved golden! Cadbury has found his humans and a new feline companion. Mom and Dad came all the way from Tennessee for this pretty boy. He is learning to live the good life and Mattie, the cat, is working hard to teach him all about people, living inside and household noises. Those puppy mill days are now just a forgotten memory. Cadbury has nothing but sunny golden days in his future!
