Cain is an 18-month purebred male Golden that was an owner turn-in to a small rescue in Alabama. They were unable to find him a home so they asked us to help him find his forever home. Of course we agreed and then we did just that! Cain has a great new dad who is a previous AGA adopter. Dad had been looking for a high-energy, young Golden for some time and with Cain he met his match. Dad was smitten at first sight but then, during the meet-n-greet dad found out first-hand how spirited Cain really was. A small opening in the back part of the fence couldn’t allowed Cain to discover a creek and then he couldn’t get back fast enough to show everyone how wet he could get as he thrashed around in the water then rolled around in the dirt. It was a pure Golden moment – and a perfect adoption moment! Obviously, dad had to change his name because Cain didn’t have a mean bone in his body — like his biblical counterpart. So, he decided to give him the name Reggie after Reggie Miller, the NBA superstar, who holds the NBA all-time record for three-pointers (2,560 of them). Soon Reggie will be camping, hiking, running, biking and just plain being his best friend. Besides, isn’t that the way it should be…
