Meet Camelot, the most amazing, strongest, sweetest golden you will ever meet. We named him Camelot because it is a place associated with ideals like justice, bravery and truth. He is the bravest dog and an amazing survivor! He was brought in to the shelter as a stray on July 14th, barely able to stand much less walk. He had NO medical care and was stuffed in a quarantine run with four little puppies until we took him out. Every other rescue was convinced he wasn’t a golden and/or was too sick to survive. When we learned no one was going to save him, we went to get this purebred golden and decided if he would fight to survive, we were going to give him that chance. He came out wagging his tail and slipping on the tile floors. When we said “sit” in order to take his photo- he sat without hesitation. He tried his best to jump in our jeep but needed a little boost. He catnapped off and on all the way to the vet. Sometimes he looked at us like–“Is this for real?” He has a wonderful personality — seems to love everyone and is very social. Unfortunately, Camelot has severe heartworms and we fear that the treatment would kill him. So we decided to find him a wonderful family to become his permanent foster. After just a short while we found just what we were looking for – the perfect selfless family for Camelot. Today he looks like a new dog! He now knows what love – true feel it in your bones love – is all about! He is living a good comfortable life, he gets his belly rubbed and his ears scratched. And most of all this sweet boy is incredibly grateful – as are we – to the wonderful family that gave this boy a place to call home.
