UPDATE: Charlie will become a working dog and has been accepted into a K-9 training academy. Depending on his “grades in school”, Charlie will have a future at The Department of Homeland Security working for Border Patrol or the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). We will keep you posted on his progress. BACKGROUND: This is Charlie when he was pretty muddy. Charlie is a big, beautiful 1.5 year old Golden whose trademark is sheer exuberance. Charlie was turned in to a shelter, who contacted AGA hoping they could find him a new forever home. This friendly guy loves people and LOVES to play, with the endless energy only a “teenage” dog can muster. In his old life Charlie was used to being in charge, so he needed to learn that he’s not in charge and his humans are! Thanks to a generous sponsorship by our friends at Dekalb Tire, he is now a graduate of U.S. Canine, whose founder is known as “Atlanta’s Dog Whisperer.” Charlie still needs basic obedience training, but he is intelligent and already knows how to be a good student. He is probably a bit too boistrous for a home with small children, but he would love to find an active, outdoorsy family who can have fun with his athletic energy while keeping up the good work begun by USC.
