This is Chester, a 2-3 year old golden male. Chester has had a long, very bumpy road. He was found lying in the front yard of a house in north Georgia. After he lay there for 3 days, people finally decided something must be wrong with him because he wasn’t moving. Chester couldn’t walk and hadn’t eaten or had water for days. A person took him to the local kill shelter. The shelter did feed him and gave him water but put him in a run on a concrete floor. They did not take him to the vet. Once we found out about Chester, we went and got him and took him immediately to the vet. Chester had a broken front leg and was in shock. We took him to the orthopaedist where they immediately operated and put a fixator with pins in his leg. He was laid up for about 6 weeks but made a full recovery. We removed the pins and he’ll still need physical therapy but he was ready for adoption. This is where the really good stuff starts…. Along came a family who was in search of the perfect addition to their family. They had a golden boy named Cooper who needed a companion and they also needed a little more golden love. They told us exactly what they were looking for; meanwhile, Chester had done the same. We ran both applications (one for a family and the other for a companion) through our system and they came back a perfect match. So, it was done. Chester now has everything he ever deserved to start with – a loving family and a wonderful new canine brother. Mom and dad finally have it all too. Chester will never again lay in a yard for 3 days silently begging for help. He’ll have all the love and affection he could ever need and with Cooper as his best friend, all the playtime too. Finally, for Chester, life is good!
