Meet Clyde – a wonderful 3 year old male Great Pyrenees who has been through the ringer. He was initially was “caught” up in the north Georgia mountains in Barrow county– it took the law to round this boy up – thus, the name Clyde. Unfortunately, he had heartworms but thanks to the Schwartzott family (and their AGA goldens Fletcher and Summer) that’s a thing of the past. Originally Clyde was adopted for a year but a change in the family (elderly parent moving in) displaced Clyde once again. Then he was adopted by another couple but was a little too much with 2 young girls in the home. Big, goofy dogs can sometimes send little kids for a tumble. So he went back into foster care, where he bounced around just a bit. He ended up being fostered by a wonderful family who adopted another GP – now named Pearl. Well, Pearl and Clyde had a tumble – a little bit of a messy tumble. Clyde won and said he was the Alpha but lost his front teeth in the skirmish. Clyde just was too much for this couple and their GP so Clyde came back to find another a new home. Well, we’ve found Clyde another new home and we’re hoping that the fourth time around is the last time around. This guy needs a family that is perfect for him and we think that this time we’ve (and of course Clyde) hit the jackpot! His new mom and dad live in Jonesboro and fell in love with Clyde at Adoption Day. Since that fateful day, they have been preparing for Clyde. They had a lesson with our trainer Angie, a day with Clyde at Goldenrama, discussions regarding the “GOOD, BAD & UGLY” of Clyde and nothing would deter them. Hmmm, seems too good to be true. Well, his new mom and dad are very dog savvy and have raised pups for Seeing Eye Dogs and they have a 14 year old female lab. She was so sad when she lost her 16 year old pal Buddy they knew they needed to get her a friend. Well, Clyde has turned out to be her new best friend. Mom reports that Clyde and their lab, Aphrodite, are doing great together. In addition, she thanked us for taking care of him for so long just as if we were keeping him all along for his new family. Good things do come to those who wait. Congrats Clyde. We wish you many, many happy years with your new family!
