Coby is a three year old former stud dog, but despite that rough start, he’s learned to play ball and to play well with kids along the way. Although he came to us with heart worms, his cute picture and fun bio encouraged our friends at Dekalb Tire to sponsor him during his treatment. In addition, we received lots of interest in this happy boy. One of our volunteers took on the job of fostering Coby, knowing ahead of time that it would be a lengthy stay due to his heart worm treatment protocol. His foster parents live in Grant Park with their two cats Martie and Jezebel and they usually foster Great Pyrenees. They certainly thought they knew what they were getting into when they agreed to foster Coby – but it took a golden to steal their hearts! As Coby’s heartworm restrictions were coming to an end and they were scheduling appointments for potential adopters, they realized they just couldn’t let Coby go. He has been in his forever home for several months – they just needed to make it official! Now Coby has a fenced-in yard and lots of friends already made in the neighborhood. He and his new mom and dad are looking forward to the end of his restrictions so he can get back to the important work of running, playing, and fetching balls and enjoying the luxuries of home sweet home!
