Cody is a 10 year old golden whose owner took him to a shelter and just left him. We could not allow him to die in the shelter and got him the next day. He was in rough shape but we cleaned him up and saw what a handsome fellow he is. The we gave him a medical exam and found he had pretty severe heartworms — so severe that his liver has been damaged. Cody can’t go through heartworm treatment until he is much stronger — he won’t survive it. He has found a kind family to take care of him and love him as he lives out his life. Cody has lots of energy and he is the kind of golden who gets very excited and wags his whole body and has to have a toy in his mouth or he will put your arm or your clothing in his mouth. He is a mouther and just needs a toy to hold while his excitement subsides. Cody has found a wonderful sponsor, Krista Willman, a wonderful golden who was rescued by us and found a loving home where she is adored. Krista wanted to give back and thought Cody needed her help most. Cody’s fund will be used to care for him in his foster’s family home and hopefully treat him for his heartworms once he gets stronger.
