Collier, a small petite purebred female golden retriever who is about 16 months old, came from South Carolina where she had been tied to a tree most of her life. Neighbors fed her when they could get to her. Her owner was about to take her to the pound when a neighbor stepped in. Collier was very sweet and gentle but she was a little scared around people (but who wouldn’t be if you were treated like she was). But we found her a loving foster home and in just a few weeks she started coming out of her shell. She loved attention and had an affair with her water bowl. (We think she was telling us she wanted to swim.) Well, she was ready for adoption but her foster Mom was waivering. Yep, you guess it. She couldn’t give her up. She had fallen madly in love with her and she wasn’t even looking for a new dog. But she knew Collier was special. And, Collier think her new family is pretty special too. No more trees for this girl.
