Comet is a 5 year old purebred male golden retriever. He is super sweet and loves kids and dogs!! He was surrendered to an animal shelter because the family had financial problems and could no longer keep him. He was a shelter favorite but they just didn’t have any room for owner surrendered dogs and these dogs are the first to be euthanized. Unfortunately, we found out that Comet had heartworms and needed a sponsor to pay for his treatment ($500). Our long time friends, Lucy and Paul Oneill stepped up and paid for his treatment in memory and honor of Ozzy O’Neill. Ozzy would have liked that a lot. Once neutered he went into foster care to wait out his 30 day treatment period and we had a family that wanted to meet him as soon as he was all better. This family already adopted Buddy Buford and wanted another dog and just knew Comet was the dog even though they had to wait to meet him. They finally met him at the foster’s house and as soon as he came off restrictions Comet was introduced to Buddy. The meeting went great and they adopted Comet. Comet who is now Beau is loving life with his new pal Buddy, he has a dad that adores him, a mom that is home during the day, a daughter who is home from college for the summer, a big fenced yard and a pool to have fun in. He certainly hit the jackpot!
