Meet Coors, a very cute male golden retriever who turned 2 years old in May. His owner turned him in to a shelter in Alabama. We don’t know why but we suspect for financial hardship because there was nothing wrong with this guy except that he had heartworms and most likely his owner didn’t even know it. A small non-golden rescue saved him at the shelter and had been trying to find him a home for 7 months with no luck. They asked AGA for help so we had one of our Alabama volunteers go get him. With the help of his sponsors, Chris and Heather Spires, who paid for his treatment we found this guy a home in no time. Along with his new family he got a new name – Gus. He also got and a mom that stays at home and a Dad who he adores. Mom and dad’s Golden passed last year due to cancer and they needed the pitter patter of golden feet and endless tumbleweeds of golden fur to make home feel like home again. When they meet, it was love at first sight. Now Coors is settling in like he has lived there forever, he’s even worked his way into the bed for an early morning snuggle with dad. Here’s to Coors and his new found family!
