My name is Cuba, and I’m a 4-year-old flat-coated retriever mix with a wiggly body, a happy heart, and puppy-level energy!

I was placed on the urgent list at a local shelter and thought no one was coming for me… but AGA did. Now I’m ready to find my forever family and start the life I’ve been waiting for.

I’m about 60 pounds of fun and enthusiasm. I love being around my people and soaking up attention. I’m a very affectionate, happy-go-lucky guy who always wants to be part of whatever you’re doing. I’m also polite when taking treats and being petted, which makes me an easy boy to love.

I’ve got a big, bouncy personality, so I’m looking for an active home, ideally with no kids or older kids who can keep up with me. I know some commands (I’ll even respond to “sit” when I’m chasing squirrels!), and I walk nicely on a leash. I’m also mostly house-trained and don’t beg at the table.

Because I’m such an athlete, I must have a fenced yard with at least a 6-foot fence so I have a safe space to run and burn off my energy.

Sometimes new or busy environments (like the vet’s office) can make me a little unsure, but with reassurance, I settle in and keep being my sweet self.

At heart, I’m a fun, loving, energetic companion who will thrive with structure, activity, and a family who’s ready to include me in their adventures.
