Daley, an 8 year old female purebred golden, was found in an area in north Georgia where lots of dogs are ‘dumped’ when she walked into a yard of a kind woman who rescues greyhounds and has a rather slim doggy door. Well, she went into the house and left Daley in the yard. In a few minutes she turned around and there was Daley…. so not only did she know how to use a doggy door, she could squeeze through one with ease! Daley had had a wonderful disposition. She was good with kids and other animals, sat and shook on command, and rode great in the car. Little Daley seemed like the perfect family dog, and we soon learned why. Who says microchippng doesn’t work?! When we took Daley to the vet we found a chip and called her contact number. Turns out Daley had been lost for three years!!! We believe she must have been taken in by some other family within those three years, but those details will remain a mystery. When Daley’s family got the news they were shocked. They all immediately loaded up the car and came down from the North Georgia Mountains to claim their little Sadie- that’s Daley’s real name. This is truly an amazing story and we’re so happy to have been able to help reunite Sadie and her family.
