Hello from me, Dallas! I am a 4 year sweetheart of a boy, and I have a great story to share with you today. When I was just a puppy, I lived all the way in Alabama, and one day I decided to take a walk…and then I got lost. I was really nervous and scared and had no idea where I was, so I just kept walking. Somehow, I wound up in a shelter, and my people never came to get me. Finally, AGA found me and let me stay with the nicest foster family. I loved them so much, and they told me that I was just so “sweet” and “cuddly,” too. (Hmmm…maybe I shouldn’t admit that to the other boy dogs!) My foster family told me that I was going to Adoption Day to meet some families who might want me to be their forever dog, and I got really excited…but anxious, too. What if they thought that I was TOO cuddly? I met so many families on that day, but one stole my heart…and I, theirs! A few days later, they invited me over to their house to play, and I was just in heaven! Such a big family! They had two doggy friends, six cat friends, a human teenage boy, a human teenage girl, and a mommy and daddy! Soooo much cuddling to do! I must admit that I was intimidated by the human boy. I knew he wanted a boy companion like me to run and play with, and I didn’t want him to think that I was a sissy. He sat me down and had a talk with me, and I promised him that I would be the greatest, most loyal friend. He told me of his plans to run, hike, and swim with me, and I nearly jumped with joy! I asked if he’d be interested in playing tennis ball with me, and he said absolutely! At the end of the day, I was sad to say goodbye to them, but I nuzzled everyone before I left and winked at the boy–we had a pact! A few days later after some doctors’ appointments, I got the news that the boy and his family wanted to keep me! Of course, I agreed! Now, I am proud to call myself a member of this big ol’ family. I get the perfect balance of affection and play time. Life is never dull. I am so glad that AGA came to get me from Alabama and bring me to this family. Now, I must run– I’ve got some hiking to do on this beautiful fall day! Your friend, Dallas.
