Dalton – HW+ Sponsored

My name is Dalton, and I’m a 6.5-year-old golden boy who’s finally getting a second chance.

I came to AGA with my two lifelong friends, Finny and Shimmer. We spent years together, first with an owner who loved us, and then, after they passed away, we were moved to the neighboring farm. We ended up living outside with very little human interaction. It wasn’t much of a life, but we always had each other.

Now everything is changing for the better. I’m a happy, goofy, social guy who absolutely loves people and other dogs, but I am not good with cats. I’m a little overweight right now (about 76 pounds), but with some medical care, exercise, and love, I know I’ll be feeling my best in no time.

I have a low-medium energy level right now, but I do love going on walks (and I walk well on the leash!). I am house-trained and prefer not to use a crate. I have great house manners and have not tried to get on any of my foster parents’ furniture.

I would do best in a home where someone works from home or stays at home, as I like to always be with my people. I would also do best in a home with no small kids, as fast movements can still make me a little nervous.

Unfortunately, I am heartworm positive. This means I’ll need treatment before I can be fully healthy again. I am grateful to the sponsors (listed below) for their donations, which helped me raise the funds for the care I need.

What I’m looking for now is a family who will take me through my HW+ treatment. I need my family to live within a max of 1 hour from the vet in Buckhead for my treatment.
