Hi everyone – I was Dolly, a 7 month old girl who was named after a famous and talented lady who sings country songs. I didn’t sing very well or have her figure but I did have my own fan club! That was my foster mom and dad, my foster brother and sister and everyone I met. I came to AGA with my brothers (a bunch of them) and I was the only girl. Sometimes brothers can shuffle a little sister into the background but no more thanks to all the attention and lessons I’ve received. I have learned my name, “sit” and “walk”, “here” and “potty” and, my favorite, the word “treat”. I also am learning good house manners and had not embarrassed myself in weeks. I remembered being kind of shy when I got here and I didn’t know about how many places a leash can take you but no more! When that leash came out- there I was! Nothing like a long walk in the morning to get the day off to a good start. I had done so well learning to be an inside dog that I was looking for an “inside” home of my own and boy did I find it. I’ve found my forever home with a wonderful active family with 4 beautiful young girls just like me! I was kind of shy the first meeting but my foster family took me back again and I just knew this was the right family for me. They loved to run and play with me and allowed me to give the little baby kisses. They bought all kinds of new toys for me and a new collar and leash for those walks I love. I also have a new name, Lucy, after another famous red hair lady. This is what my new family said about me: Lucy warmed up pretty quickly. She was really unsure when the foster left and looked out the window for a couple of minutes she then ventured into the kitchen and just watched us for awhile. When the rain stopped we took her in the backyard and she had a BLAST! Running after the girls and just having the time of her life sprinting around. We then came back inside and she warmed up to my husband. She kept coming over to him for some head scratching. She also joined the girls on the couch and laid in their lap while watching Marley and Me. We took her for a little night walk and she had incredible manners. The girls also walked her and Lucy did amazing on her leash. I had to pick my jaw off the ground when we stopped walking and Lucy sat down and waited for us to start walking again. She has been cuddling with the family on the couch and loves to be in whatever room the family is in. She is no longer hiding. We are in LOVE with her and she is rather fond of us as well. Just wanted to say thank you for caring for her and investing in her. We are benefiting from your faithfulness.
