Miss Dover, a 6 year old female golden retriever, came to AGA when a person who saw her sitting in a run at a kill shelter called to tell us about her. We took her into the program sight unseen. And are we glad we did because Dover proved to be the perfect dog for her new family. Dover’s new mom and dad came to us in search of a golden that would get along with their Lhasa terrier mix and two cats. Mom and dad have a special place in their heart for goldens. Years ago they adopted a three year old pup who lived to be 13years old and an important part of the family. Eventually, they knew it was time for another golden and little Miss Dover fit the bill. Dover is so happy in her new home. Her brother terrier was adopted two years ago so he’s showing Dover the ropes and they are having the best time. They love to run and play in the pool together and have even let the cats in on their fun. Mom is a nurse so she knows just how to care for Dover. There are no more lonely nights in any kill shelter for this girl.
