Eclipse is a 2 year old (est) Flat Coated Retriever, but don’t tell her – she thinks she is a golden! A local shelter sent out an urgent email asking for help from rescue groups due to their severe overcrowded issue! We picked her up the next morning and the staff and Eclipse were so thankful. She had been friendly with a very small yorkie and a terrified shepherd. She actually tried to comfort the shepherd by kissing his nose. She hopped in the car and happily curled up for the ride. She didn’t make a sound. When she got to our vet, she jumped up on the counter like she was saying “I’m here and so lucky!!”. Little did she know her luck was just beginning. Next along came a very special volunteer who sponsored Eclipse through her heartworm treatment for his dear friend and business partner, Dr. Helen Gelly in honor of her mother, Cvetana Bachvarov, who recently passed away. Then we had a special applicant come in who was only interested in a flat coated retriever. Jackpot! At their meet Eclipse kept licking and licking her new mom and trying to get in her lap. When she jumped in mom’s back seat, she looked back as if to say “I’m going home”. Well, home she is to stay. Her new mom and dad will be married in just a week so there will be more reason to celebrate! She will have a new home and a fenced yard. She doesn’t have any brothers and sisters just yet, so she will be an only “dog” and spoiled rotten.
