Some dogs chase tennis balls, others chase squirrels… me? I am just chasing my shot at forever. My name is Emerson, and I am a two-year-old flat-coated retriever with a heart as soft as my silky ears. I was wandering alone when I landed at Newton County Animal Control, and even though no one came looking for me, the amazing team there believed in me. They reached out to AGA, and just like that, my next chapter began. Everyone I have met so far has said the same thing about me: I am sweet, calm, and gentle, but still can be a little scared in new environments (I mean, who isn’t?), but I never let fear take away my manners. I have a soft spirit, a kind soul, and I am learning more about the world every day as I settle into my foster home. I weigh just over 47 pounds, so I am the perfect size for snuggles, walks, and adventures, once I get a little more confident, of course. Right now, I am just looking for a patient, loving family who’ll help me feel safe and help me discover the world. I am ready to love my forever family with my whole heart. Could that be you?
