Meet Fender. Fender’s story is truly what AGA is all about! He is a 2 – 3 year old purebred golden retriever that came into AGA after he had been the victim of a hit and run. Animal control picked him up, rushed him to the vet and learned he has a severely broken leg. He was facing either losing his leg or being put down – that’s when we stepped in! We knew that we had to try and save his leg. After a couple much needed and very pricey operations by a wonderful doctor we were able to save his leg. He has a plate in his leg and 10 screws. His recovery will take some time but with the patience and love of his foster family he will certainly get better. It will probably also help Fender to know that although this road has been long and bumpy there is a beautiful ending – or rather a new beginning. The foster family that has cared for him so well has decided that they cannot part with him. They have fallen head over heels in love with this sweet boy and he has become a permanent and very important part of their family. The bond these guys have created is very strong and we know that bond will only help Fender in his recovery. This brave boy is home to stay!
